Placed directly on the white sands of Holbox island, this beach house rental in Mexico takes the unusual leap into the stark Brutalist design technique, creating an eye-catching contrast to the tropical landscape.
Located in the quiet residential area of Punta Coco with spectacular views across the ocean, the house is a private paradise all your own but within easy reach of the main square and town with its lively beach side restaurants and shops as well as the rest of the island famous for it’s natural beauty.
Constructed entirely of concrete inside and out, the structure’s straightforward box form is laid out over two floors with the futuristic monochrome palette extending throughout.
The ground floor houses a large open plan living room and dining area that can seat eight, integrated with the fully equipped open kitchen where staff will provide a simple breakfast each day. There is a double en suite bedroom for two here with three en suite bedrooms on the upper floor, all with spectacular views of the sea.
The absolute minimalism and absence of decor allows an immersive and calming experience where the architecture and environment blend in harmony.
The large outdoor terrace overlooks the sea in an idyllic spot of relaxation and escapism.
Breakfast served daily. Wifi throughout, 63″ UHD TV, climate control/AC. Kitchen and bath essentials, laundry facilities. Private parking.
Located off the coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula and separated from the mainland by the Yalahau Lagoon, Holbox Island is part of the Yum Balam Nature Reserve between the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Rich in biodiversity and marine life, you can spot sea turtles and whale sharks in the waters off the coast and flamingos and sea birds strolling the shores. The tiny main village on the north west side of the island is a laid back mosaic of shoreline cantinas and thatched whitewashed bungalows, vendors and shops and the main town square where the colorful remnants of the annual arts festival has left the town’s walls covered in art, murals and graffiti. Much of the rest of the island is largely uninhabited and covered in mangroves and sandy coves for exploring like nearby Playa Punta Coco.
