Located within an epic desert landscape in the shadow of the Black Lava Butte National Monument, this vacation home rental in Pioneertown invites you to an inspiring and quiet refuge of pristine seclusion.

Two miles from the a rural highway down a dirt lane, it’s a remote and serene escape to reconnect with nature.

Designed with careful attention to detail, the house is simple, stylish and airy, with bright whitewashed spaces accented with colorful textiles, native cacti and artful touches.

Created in alignment with green design principles, the house is entirely off-grid and solar powered but with all of the comforts of home.

The great room with lounge area and a fireplace opens out to the desert vistas and is adjacent to the open chef’s kitchen with barstool seating. The double bedroom is a dreamy space with views out over the desert and a private bath.

Shaded terraces wrap around the house offering sheltered contemplation areas to soak in the desert colors, breathtaking vistas, and nighttime stargazing.

AROUND

Located just outside of Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree National Park in the Mojave Desert, the house is also within minutes of historic Pioneertown, a kitschy Hollywood relic founded in the 1940s as an authentic frontier town movie set. Today there are a few shops, cafes and galleries to visit including the famous Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace.

There are miles of outdoor desert adventure in the area as well as several unique attractions and interesting local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, and the famed Integratron. Palm Springs is less than an hour drive and further afield, the San Jacinto mountains rise above the desert floor and are lined with miles of hiking trails at a cooler elevation. Indian Canyon and Palm Canyon are also within driving distance for rural getaways in the Coachella Valley area. Los Angeles is a two hour drive.

This property is incredible. The pictures don’t even do it justice! Its in an extremely private area with wonderful rocks and hiking around the property. All the amenities were great – we cooked every night in the kitchen and enjoyed the fireplace in the evening. I highly recommend this rental and the host was so accommodating and helpful! Thank you for a perfect getaway!
