Just seven miles long and three miles wide, it’s easily traversed and explored in its entirety. A sixty minute crossing by boat from Corfu, you’ll disembark into the island’s harbor capital town of Gaios. A typical whitewashed Greek town with seafront cafes, bars and shops, there is the remnants of Venetian architecture and tiny winding streets to browse. The small fishing village of Loggos is located on the eastern side of the island not far from the third village of Lakka, each of which are quaint and small but lively, with tavernas that encircle the water and a few shops. The island’s rugged interior, pebble beaches and lovely Erimitis Bay are worth the trek. With several islets in all in the chain that you will discover by boat, Antipaxos with its white sandy beaches and Corfu town are just a short hop and well worth the trip.
